The Centre was set up in its embryonic form in 1973 and acquired its present status in 1975. The Centre sets out to extend and improve the public understanding of Socio-economic and political developments in South Asia, particularly in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Department of Archaeology
Archaeology is the scientific study of past human culture and behaviour through the examination of material remains of previous human societies. The search for the past is the search for ourselves. These remains include the human bones, floral faunal and food remains, ruins of buildings, and artifacts such as house hold objects, metal ware, personal jewelry, gem and jewels, coins and icons, etc. such relies of ancient man are studied by the archaeologist through field surveys and excavations, and museum collections as well as through laboratory analysis to reconstruct the past ways of life. In addition to class room the archaeological studies involves a lot of field work, exploration and excavations, repeated museum visits, preservation and restoration of heritage properties.

Annual Examination 2013, First Year BS in Computer Science First Annual Examination 2013, First Year M.B.A. (3 ½ Year Programme) Annual Examination, 2013, B.A. Supplementary Examination, 2012 & Annual Examination, 2013, Bachelor of Commerce Part-I, Second Annual Examination, 2012 and Annual Examination, 2013 to be conducted at AL-Sharq College for Science & Technology, Jeddah K.S.A., it is hereby notified that the above said examinations have been cancelled. Schedules for the re-conduct of these examinations will be announced later.
History of biotechnology
Biotechnology is the application of scientific and engineering principles to the processing of materials by biological agents to provide goods and services.[1] From its inception, biotechnology has maintained a close relationship with society. Although now most often associated with the development of drugs, historically biotechnology has been principally associated with food, addressing such issues as malnutrition and famine. The history of biotechnology begins with zymotechnology, which commenced with a focus on brewing techniques for beer. By World War I, however, zymotechnology would expand to tackle larger industrial issues, and the potential of industrial fermentation gave rise to biotechnology.However, both the single-cell protein and gasohol projects failed to progress due to varying issues including public resistance, a changing economic scene, and shifts in political power.
Yet the formation of a new field, genetic engineering, would soon bring biotechnology to the forefront of science in society, and the intimate relationship between the scientific community, the public, and the government would ensue. These debates gained exposure in 1975 at the Asilomar Conference, where Joshua Lederberg was the most outspoken supporter for this emerging field in biotechnology. By as early as 1978, with the synthesis of synthetic human insulin, Lederberg's claims would prove valid, and the biotechnology industry grew rapidly. Each new scientific advance became a media event designed to capture public support, and by the 1980s, biotechnology grew into a promising real industry. In 1988, only five proteins from genetically engineered cells had been approved as drugs by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but this number would skyrocket to over 125 by the end of the 1990s.

It start functions in 2005 and conduct 5th grade board exams first time in province level under the Punjab Examination Commission Act XI of 2010 for the improvement of elementary education system by printing the exams tests and printed them for districts levels.
The majority of the population of the region became Muslim due to the efforts of Sufi missionaries of Islam and at the time of Partition, the district made alliance with Muslim League and became the part of Pakistan. It is located in the center of the province and on a road which joins Sialkot, Gujarat, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
5th Class examination has been conducted in the month of February 2014. The first paper was science which was conducted on 6th of February 2014 while the last paper has been conducted on 10th of February which was English.
There are many industries in the region as well which are working to uplift the economy of the nation. The region has a well established education system. 5th Class Result 2014 PEC Exams Punjab BISE
Punjab Examination Commission was formed in 2006 but the discussion for the need of a department which looks after the other boards in educational matters was started in 2005.
PEC holds the exams for 5th and 8th class and for the first time PEC arranges the exams for 5th class in the month of March 2006.
The responsibility of PEC includes pointing out the areas where training of teachers is required, designing a system of examination and after implementing the system evaluating that system so that it may need any revision.
It also has a responsibility to check out any improvement needed in syllabus or teaching methodology of teachers in the domain of elementary education of Punjab.
Every year thousands of students took part in the 5th class exams and Pec is responsible to conduct and organize the exams for 5th class.
Both private and public sector students appear in the exams and after attempting the exams students eagerly wait for the result of their exams.
The exams are conducted by the eight boards of Punjab and result is also announced by these boards. The exams are normally taken by the boards in the month of February while the date sheet is announced one month before the exams.
The result is announced by the boards in supervision of PEC and is normally announced in March.
